Hersheypark is hiring for the 2012 summer season! Various positions are available for ages 14 and older! POSITIONS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE:
(Please note not all positions are available for ages 14-1 7)
Retail Department:
- Operating cash registers and making correct change
- Maintaining confidentiality with customer information
- Stocking shelves with merchandise
- Maintaining cleanliness throughout the store and at the end of each shift
- Selling merchandise to customers
Food & Beverage Department:
- Prepare and serve food
- Take customer orders for food and beverages
- Ensure proper food presentation
- Work independently at various food carts
- Work as a team in a food stand
- Clean patios, stockrooms, serving areas, kitchen equipment, and preparation areas
- Operate a cash register and make correct change
Hersheypark Place Restaurant offers various positions including server, busser, and host(ess) which may require you to do one or all of the following tasks depending on assigned position:
- Prepare and serve food
- Take customer orders for food and beverages
- Greet and escort guests to assigned tables
- Design displays to show products available to customers
- Work as a team in the restaurant to ensure fast and efficient service
- Clean patios, stockrooms, serving areas, and preparation areas (including grill tops and preparation surfaces)
- Operate a cash register and making correct change
Rides Department:
- Providing excellent hospitality
- Operating and attending rides for adults and/or children
- Directing guests on and off rides
- Checking all safety restraints
- Checking height requirements
- Maintaining ride capacity logs
- Keeping a safe and clean work area
Guest Services Department:
Hershey Gardens/ Greeter Staff - Must be able to work a minimum of four (4) days per week throughout the summer season to
- include a rotation of mornings and evenings
- Handle questions throughout the day about the Gardens
- Explain and sell special Gardens add-on programs.
- Work on a computer based ticket system
- Must be comfortable handling money
Cabanas
- Facilitate and coordinate office details related to Cabana operations including direct contact with guests.
- Sell and track inventory items
- Provide general information to guests.
- Communicate and work with other departments effectively to ensure the best possible experience for our guests
- Must be comfortable handling money
- Handle clerical duties such as filing, answering phones, and filling out paperwork
- Learn operational standards for the Guest Services Department at Hersheypark.
Front Gate Staff
- Must be able to work a minimum of four (4) days per week throughout the summer season to include a rotation of mornings and evenings
- Handle questions throughout the day about the Park
- Rotate daily from cashiers, ticket takers, to handstampers
- Work on a computer based ticket system
- Must be comfortable handling money
Greeters
- Must be able to work a minimum of four (4) days per week throughout the summer season to include a rotation of mornings and evenings
- Welcome guests to the Park
- Direct crowds
- Conduct transports via a Golf Cart
- Assist with various Park programs
- Answer a variety of guest questions
Survey Greeters
- Must be able to work a minimum of four (4) days per week throughout the summer season to include a rotation of mornings and evenings
- Handle questions throughout the day about the Park
- Approach guests in a friendly manner
- Use a handheld computer to capture information about our guests
- Provide information regarding all of the Hershey Entities and surrounding areas
- Assist with transports via Golf Carts
ZooAmerica Admissions Staff
- Must be able to work a minimum of four (4) days per week throughout the summer season to include a rotation of mornings and evenings
- Handle questions throughout the day about the Zoo
- Rotate daily from cashiers to handstampers on the ZooAmerica Bridge
- Work on a computer based ticket system
- Sell and process ZooAmerica Memberships
- Handle Clerical duties such as filing, answering phones, and filling out paperwork
- Must be comfortable handling money
Entertainment Department:
Costume Performers
- Improvisational performance
- Maintaining care and limited repair to costume
- Acting as a guide/voice of the product character
- Provide a consistent "character" experience to all guests
- Maintaining the costume area and keeping a safe and clean work environment
Show Hosts
- Welcome each guest into the venue in a friendly and enthusiastic manner
- Appear throughout Hersheypark entertaining our guests
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for our guests
- Be an informed resource on park information
- Assist guests to appropriate seating areas
- Maintain the record of accurate show counts for each show
Security Department:
Traffic Officers
- Greet Guests of the Entertainment Complex
- Assist in directing traffic
- Manning traffic positions such as checkpoints and other access control areas
- Generally keeping the flow of traffic orderly
- Maintaining cleanliness of equipment
- Ability to oversee the daily operations of the Parking Lot Attendants
- Providing a safe and friendly atmosphere for our guests
- Reporting and reacting to hazardous conditions and emergency situations
- Ensuring access control throughout the Complex
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Traffic Support Staff:
- Greet Guests of the Entertainment Complex
- Handle and exchange money and tickets at the toll plaza locations
- Assist in directing traffic
- Manning traffic positions
- Generally keeping the flow of traffic orderly
- Provide safe transport of guests to and from the parking lots on a Tram
- Drive and operate tram
- Maintaining cleanliness of equipment
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Parking Lot Attendants
- Assisting with parking patron vehicles
- Providing a safe and friendly atmosphere to our guests
- Directing traffic
- Manning traffic positions
- Generally keeping the flow of traffic orderly
Security Officers
- This position is ideal for Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement majors and can be classified as an internship if needed for college credit
- Providing a safe and friendly atmosphere for our guests
- Reporting and reacting to hazardous conditions and emergency situations
- Ensuring access control throughout the Complex
- Screening of all handcarried items from guests and employees
- Directing traffic at checkpoints and parking lots
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Event Staff
- Being familiar with an assigned section of a facility in order to assist customers in locating specific seats
- Searching of all hand carried items from guests and employees
- Providing or seeking assistance for customer needs
- Assisting with crowd control during emergency situations
- Monitoring customer behavior for compliance with event and facility policies
- Assisting with post-event clean up and duties including lifting and moving items
Games Department:
Games Clerks
- Interacting with and encouraging guests
- Explaining and enforcing game rules
- Making correct change for guests and awarding prizes
- Maintaining cleanliness of game areas, video games, and redemption machines
- Assisting guests with exchanging tickets and tokens for prizes
- Advertise location to guests in a professional manner
Wardrobe Department:
Wardrobe Clerks
- Use diplomatic skills to assist in fitting an employee with their uniform
- Hand out clean uniforms
- Receive dirty uniforms and place them in the appropriate bins
- Assist with laundry to include: washing, drying, removing stains, folding, hanging clothing and linens.
- Assist with sewing articles of clothing when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of the entire Wardrobe area including Locker Rooms
- Work independently as well as in a team atmosphere
Utility Department:
Clean-Up Crew Members
- Pan and broom throughout the park, parking lots, and stadium
- Collect and empty trash cans
- Clean trash cans
- Pushing water puddles in the park
- Work hours begin 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Hose Crew Team
- Hose down the Park walkways with a fire hose
- Assisting the clean up crew as necessary with maintaining overall cleanliness
- Work hours begin at 5:00 AM and end around 12:00 PM each day
Sanitation Crew Members
- Pick up trash throughout the park, parking lots, and stadium
- Maintaining cleanliness of restrooms
- Cleaning up after events including football games or concerts
- Pushing water puddles in the Park
Sweeps Clerks
- Pan and broom throughout the Park, parking lots, and stadium
- Greeting guests throughout the Park
- Pushing water puddles in the Park
Finance Department:
Cash Control Assistants
- This position is ideal for Finance/Accounting majors and can be classified as an internship if approved by your College or University
- Must have strong basic math skills
- Must be a graduating senior, have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work a minimum of four (4) days per week throughout the summer season to include a rotation of early mornings and late nights; must also have the ability to work weekends is also required
- Using Jetscans (currency counters) and Jetsorts (coin sorter) to process the revenue from Hersheypark, Hersheypark Arena, Giant Center, Hersheypark Stadium, M.S. Hershey Foundation, Hershey Resorts and Hershey Golf Collection.
- Data entry of finance activities into a Window’s based Cash Room Management System
- Completing the bank deposit for the day, and replenishing funds for the next Park day
- Issuing and returning bags through the Cash Room Management system
- Answering the phone and dispatching radio calls
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and able to sit/stand for long periods of time
- Assisting supervisors with other job tasks that need to be completed
Money Cart Assistants
- This position is ideal for Finance/Accounting majors and can be classified as an internship if approved by your College or University
- Must have strong basic math skills
- Must be a graduating senior, have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid Drivers License and the ability to drive a cart
- Must be able to work a minimum of four (4) days per week throughout the summer season to include a rotation of early mornings and late nights; must also have the ability to work weekends is also required
- Must be able to walk at a rapid pace to arrive at locations in a timely manner and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. independently
- Issuing money bags, returning money bags, answering phones, and dispatching radio calls
- Picking up bags and responding to change calls in all weather conditions
